What we collect

When you sign in with Google (or an invited login), we store your account email and name. Everything else is coffee data you choose to add: beans, brews, ratings, recipes, equipment, and — if you use it — bag photos. Bag photos are optional and only stored when photo storage is configured.

AI features

Dial-in advice and bean discovery are powered by Google Gemini. To generate a suggestion, we send the relevant brew or bean details (method, grind, dose, ratio, timing, equipment, ratings and notes) to Gemini. We don't send your account email or identity in these requests, and CoffeeBuddy does not train any model on your data.

Notifications & email

Push notifications (like freshness reminders) are strictly opt-in — nothing is sent unless you enable them on a device. Any email digest features are opt-in as well and only used if you turn them on.

Payments

Subscriptions are processed by Stripe via their hosted Checkout and billing portal. Your card details are entered directly into Stripe and never touch CoffeeBuddy's servers.

Shared recipes

When you share a recipe link, the page shows the recipe content only — grind, dose, ratio, timing, notes and the bean name. It never shows your name, email or any other identifying information.

Cookies

We use a single cookie to keep you signed in. No advertising or analytics cookies are set.

Deleting your data

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data — beans, brews, recipes, equipment, everything — at any time from Settings → Account. This is self-service and immediate; no need to ask us.
